How to cancel in the member portal

1. Sign in at planetfitness.com/login. The portal is where Planet Fitness members manage billing, change clubs and see their membership agreement.
2. Find the option to end your membership in your account and confirm it. Planet Fitness does not publish the exact screens.
3. Save a screenshot of the confirmation screen and keep any email you get.
4. Do it in time: at least 7 days before your next billing date, and at least 7 days before your annual fee date to stop the $49 annual fee.

Which clubs let you cancel online?

Planet Fitness publishes no list. Club offer pages we checked on November 8, 2026, in New Caney, Texas; Hoboken, New Jersey; and San Francisco, California, show a “Cancel Online, Anytime!” badge under both the Classic and PF Black Card offers. An Ohio club's rates page we checked shows no such badge.

Planet Fitness's own FAQ says: “Some policies and procedures may vary by location based on state and local guidelines.”

Joined online? Some states require online cancellation

• California: if you accepted the membership online on a contract entered into, amended or extended from July 1, 2025, the business must let you cancel exclusively online.
• New Jersey: if you entered into a health club contract online, you must be able to end its automatic renewal online through a direct link or button on the club's website.
• New York: cancelling must be as easy as signing up and through the same medium; if you signed up in person, the business must also offer online or phone cancellation.
