# Is it hard to cancel Planet Fitness?

**Planet Fitness lists three ways to cancel, but four snags make it harder than it looks: the home club rule, online cancellation that not every club may offer, two separate 7-day deadlines, and a $58 buyout on minimum-term memberships.** Here is the way past each.

## Snag 1: it goes through your home club

Planet Fitness lists your home club, by mail or in person, as the place to cancel; clubs are independently owned and operated. **The way past it:** you do not have to go there. ## If the club or the portal won't cancel you

Use another listed way. A letter mailed to your home club by certified mail with a return receipt proves the date the club received your notice.
